Letter from outgoing CEO - Charlie Cox

Dear Furmanite Team,
 
It has been an honor and privilege to serve all of you over the past nearly five years, supporting your efforts to make Furmanite the World leader in each of the highly specialized services we provide! I have met and worked alongside many of our 3,000 teammates, and have personally observed the extraordinary skills and dedication each of you brings to your responsibilities. You are an incredible team of professionals who can justifiably take great pride in the word class services and products we deliver to our customers around the world!
 
As I retire, both as CEO and as a Director, I am fully confident that under Joe Milliron’s leadership you will continue to implement and enhance the culture and values contained in our “Orange Code”, with the positive spirit of global teamwork summarized in our “Orange Way”! After my nearly 20 year relationship with Furmanite, starting as a Director in 1995, I will certainly miss being a part of this remarkable company, which after 90 plus years I believe is just getting started! 
 
I deeply regret that I will not directly participate in your future efforts.  I will, however, follow closely your progress and look forward to watching you build on the foundation we have together put in place, taking Furmanite to ever higher levels of performance and accomplishment!
 
For nearly four years you have heard repeatedly from Joe and me all the specifics of our new culture, strategies and working relationships which are a part of our company’s transformation process – so I will not attempt to repeat them again here. By now, you all know what you need to do to complete that transformation – consistent follow-through with implementation and execution!
 
I will leave only two thoughts with you as I retire, very important ones you have heard from me many times;
 
1)            Our future is all about our Customers! Everyone is part of our Sales Team – no matter what specific role you play! The courtesy, service and responsiveness we collectively provide our Customers will largely determine our future success and growth! Spend much time with them and listen carefully to their needs and concerns! Serve them better than any competitor possibly could!
 
2)            Our people ARE our Company! Our future is all about our Customers, and because we only interact and serve those Customers through our people, that makes our people “Furmanite” to our Customers! And the more directly they interface with our Customers, the more important they are. That means our Technicians and Engineers are our most important employees! Respect them and support them so they CAN “serve our Customers better than any competitor possibly could”!
 
Finally, I pray that we will never lose the “personal touch” – treating all people with courtesy, respect and dignity! This includes truly caring about our employee’s welfare, keeping them safe, recognizing their loyalty, dedication and great work and, in every way possible, making it “fun” to be a part of the Furmanite Team!
 
I want to thank each of you sincerely for your support and friendship during my service with Furmanite, and wish each one of you, and your families, a healthy, happy New Year and the very best of success in the future!
